Congratulations to Tracy Butler, M.D., Sudhin Shah, Ph.D., and Yi Li, M.D., Ph.D., of the Brain Health Imaging Institute for their $6 million NIH grant: "Brain fluid clearance and misfolded protein dynamics following traumatic brain injury." Using neuroimaging, this project will monitor the deposition and clearance of amyloid and tau, thereby offering a better understanding of how brain clearance may relate to traumatic brain injury recovery and later risk of neurodegeneration.

Congratulations to Yi Wang, Ph.D., of the MRI Research Institute and Gloria Chiang, M.D., of the Brain Health Imaging Institute, for their $4 million NIH grant: “Quantitative MRI-based cerebral oxygen metabolism in Alzheimer’s disease.” This project will develop and validate a noninvasive MRI technique to diagnose and monitor alterations in cerebral oxygen metabolism across normal aging and Alzheimer's disease.

Congratulations to Laura Beth McIntire, Ph.D., for her $4 million NIH grant: Spatial dysregulation of the lipidome in Alzheimer’s disease human and mouse brain. Using imaging mass spectrometry, the McIntire Lab will atlas regional changes in the lipidome in multiple mouse models from MODEL-AD, harboring genetic variants involved in lipid metabolism previously ...
