The Division of Pediatric Radiology at New York Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center provides comprehensive diagnostic imaging services to infants, children and adolescents, in a modern child-friendly, family-friendly setting. Parents are encouraged to be with their children during all examinations. School age children are accommodated so that they miss school as little as possible. Plain X-rays, ultrasound, CT, and MRI are performed using state-of-the-art equipment, giving special consideration to the comfort and safety of the child. We are leaders in the field of low-dose imaging and participate in the national pediatric ImageGently campaign.
To better support our patients, we provide Certified Child Life Specialists. Our Child Life Specialists are essential to our pediatric radiology team, guiding children and families through imaging exams with personalized support and education.
To further enhance the pediatric experience, at our outpatient radiology facilities, Weill Cornell Imaging at NewYork-Presbyterian, we created the MRIamaHero! program—an initiative that minimizes the need for sedation during imaging exams. This program helps children understand what to expect during their scan and rewards them along the way for their courage.
Our pediatric radiologists are leaders in their field with strong national and international reputations and achievements. They are Diplomates of the American Board of Radiology and have earned Certificates of Added Qualification (CAQ) in Pediatric Radiology. Our Pediatric Radiology faculty are available to assist the referring pediatrician in selecting the best test for the individual patient and answer any questions and concerns that patients or parents may have.
