Holly G. Prigerson Wins Debra Sivesind Career Award for Outstanding Contributions to Palliative Care

Congratulations to Holly G. Prigerson, Ph.D., of the Weill Cornell Medicine (WCM) Department of Radiology, on winning the 2024 Debra Sivesind Career Award for Outstanding Contributions to Palliative Care. Dr. Prigerson, WCM Endowed Professor of Diagnostics in Radiology, Professor of Sociology in Radiology, Professor of Sociology in Medicine, and Director, Cornell Center for Research on End-of-Life Care, will accept the award during the 27th Annual Interdisciplinary Supportive & Palliative Care Clinical & Research Symposium at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas, on September 20 and 21, 2024. As a principal investigator on numerous National Institute of Health awards, Dr. Prigerson spearheaded studies that justified the inclusion of Prolonged Grief Disorder in ICD-11 and DSM-5-TR, as well as those examining psychosocial influences on end-of-life care and its outcomes. An internationally recognized palliative care expert, she was invited to serve as a plenary and keynote speaker at the 2024 symposium.
