Lidia Glodzik, M.D., Ph.D., Awarded $3 Million NIH Grant for “Anatomy of the circle of Willis, cerebral blood flow and Alzheimer’s disease biomarkers in hypertension”

Congratulations to Lidia Glodzik, M.D., Ph.D., of the Brain Health Imaging Institute for her $3 million NIH grant: Anatomy of the circle of Willis, cerebral blood flow and Alzheimer’s disease biomarkers in hypertension.” Dr. Glodzik's project examines whether missing or underdeveloped vessels in the arterial structure, which supplies the brain (circle of Willis), compromise cerebral blood flow. It's also poised to test whether reduced blood flow leads to a greater accumulation of proteins related to Alzheimer’s disease, namely amyloid beta and tau.
