Abstract | A sensory assembly consisting of a pH sensitive NIR dye and an arylboronic acid shows ratiometric absorption changes with increased fluorescence intensity upon addition of sugar in aqueous media; this demonstrates a new signal transduction mechanism for the detection of sugar based on pH changes induced in the microenvironment of the sensory assembly. |
