WCM Radiology Ranks in the Top 5 Nationally in NIH Funding

We are thrilled to announce that the National Institutes of Health (NIH) 2023 fiscal-year funding for the Weill Cornell Medicine (WCM) Department of Radiology reached $35.4 million.

In 2010, the department received $1.6 million in NIH funding, placing WCM at #38 on the Blue Ridge Institute for Medical Research rankings. Now, only 13 years later, WCM has increased that amount by 22 times and climbed 33 spots, placing us at #5. This makes us the top-ranked department not only at WCM but also the top-ranked radiology department in New York City.

With the surge in NIH awards, the care, research, and facilities at WCM continue to grow, placing the department at the forefront of scientific investigation and academic medicine. But our greatest asset has always been our people—dedicated individuals facilitating groundbreaking research and personalized patient care. Congratulations to our faculty, trainees, and staff for all their hard work!
