Vishwa S. Parekh, PhD, is an Assistant Professor of Diagnostic and Interventional Imaging at McGovern Medical School, UTHealth Houston. He holds a PhD in Computer Science from Johns Hopkins University, with a research focus on the clinical translation of artificial intelligence and multi-omics precision medicine. Dr. Parekh specializes in developing quantitative imaging biomarkers and radiomic frameworks to improve the diagnosis and treatment assessment of body cancers and neurological disorders. His recent work advances the field through the implementation of federated and lifelong learning architectures, aiming to build scalable, privacy-preserving AI models for real-world clinical decision support. An extensively published investigator, his scholarship also examines the ethical dimensions of medical AI, including algorithmic bias and the environmental impact of radiology informatics.
