The Department of Radiology at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center is proud to offer the highest level of residency training:
Our four-year, ACGME-accredited Diagnostic Radiology Residency Program continues the department's long history and tradition of training successful academic and private practice radiologists. The program is under the direction of the Radiology Residency Program Director, with a large, strong full-time faculty actively involved in teaching. With our partners in residency training, Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center and the Hospital for Special Surgery, expert instruction is provided in all aspects of diagnostic radiology.
The Weill Cornell Diagnostic Radiology Residency was ranked as the #1 program in New York and in the top ten nationwide by Doximity/US News.
Residents rotate through three hospitals. Radiologists at the three hospitals all hold faculty appointments at Weill Cornell Medicine:
We are pleased that our residency program has been approved for the Early Specialization Interventional Radiology (“ES-IR”) curriculum and pathway.
Our residents go onto the most sought-after and prestigious fellowship training programs in the nation (please click onto "Where Our Residents Have Gone” on the top of this page). Our current residents are drawn from the nation’s top medical schools (see “Our Residents” link). The current "Residency Application Process" link is also on this page.
We have been ACGME-accredited for a 5-year Interventional Radiology-Integrated Residency (“IR/DR”). Residents will start their PGY-1 year in the Department of Surgery at NYPH-Weill Cornell Campus before transitioning into our integrated residency program for their PGY 2 year. The first 3 years of training will consist of Diagnostic Radiology core rotations with some IR. The PGY-5 year will be focused on IR with SICU and vascular lab rotations as well as rotations with our partner institution, Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. The last year of residency will be devoted entirely to Interventional Radiology training and include rotations at our outpatient vein treatment center.
Our application for Interventional Radiology-Integrated Residency (IR/DR) is available through ERAS and we will be participating in the NRMP match for July 1, 2018. The current "Interventional Residency Application Process" link is also on this page.
Our three-year ACGME-accredited Nuclear Medicine Residency Program, under the direction of the Nuclear Medicine Residency Program Director, provides specialized training in both diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine. For more information and the application process, please click onto "Nuclear Medicine Residency" on the top of this page.
