The Department of Radiology at Weill Cornell Medicine/ New York Presbyterian Hospital is pleased to announce the Diversity Visiting Student Internship Program in Radiology for July 6-31, 2020. The purpose of this program is to provide 4th year medical students from backgrounds underrepresented in medicine, including African American, American Indian, Alaska Native, Hispanic American, and Pacific Islander, exposure to radiology through a rotation in the NewYork Presbyterian, Weill Cornell Department of Radiology.
The Department of Radiology will select and award two outstanding medical students who have completed core clinical clerkships at an LCME accredited institution. Awardees will be assigned to divisions, including: ED/Musculoskeletal, Chest, Body US/CT, Neuroradiology, Women's Imaging, Interventional Radiology, and Pediatric Radiology. Additional rotations may be scheduled based on the student's preference. Students are expected to attend all simulation, teaching, and conferences with the house staff. Students will be assigned a resident and faculty mentor during their time in the department.
The award will include:
- Housing for the 4 week rotation
- A stipend of $1,500 at the completion of the program

PIER Internship ( Pipeline Initiative for the Enrichment of Radiology)
The ACR is proud to offer the PIER internship to first-year medical students at institutions across the U.S. This initiative began through the Commission for Women and Diversity in hopes of giving underrepresented minorities (URMs) and women an opportunity to explore the radiology specialty and engage in research.
