Through our involvement in Operation Backpack, the department has collected and donated almost 400 backpacks for children starting kindergarten and pre-K living in homeless shelters in NYC. Due to COVID-19, it was converted to an online fundraising campaign in 2020 where we instead raised $7,000. This program continues under the leadership of Dr. Kemi Babagbemi into its 5th consecutive year.
